From school corridors in London to a life built in Sydney and a proposal held by the misted mountains of Japan, Talia and Yuval’s story is one of quiet alignment.
Side by side for years. Then face to face in the moment that mattered. Their love story unfolded slowly and naturally, in full view of everyone that mattered, long before they were ready to name it.
We asked these lovers how they knew they’d found ‘the one’ in each other and in the ring they chose to symbolise their devotion.
How did you meet?
“Yuval and I went to school together and were really good friends. Everyone always thought we liked each other, but we were in denial until we finally got together after university!
The transition from friends to partners was so easy. We already spent time together, shared the same circles and knew each other’s families. Family is really important to both of us as we both come from big, loud families.
We’ve always had similar tastes in music, films and food too. And we both love cooking together, exploring and trying new things.
Moving from London to Sydney was challenging at first because we didn’t know anyone and missed everyone back home. But we love the life we’ve built here and neither of us could have done the move without the other.”

How do you love to spend your time together?
“We both love to cook and, more importantly, eat. Our favourite thing is to walk (and eat) our way around a new city. Since moving to Sydney, we make the most of the beautiful weather and spend a lot of time at the beach.”

What’s your love language?
“Probably acts of service for both of us, usually through cooking for the other. We’d also both say quality time.
In the last year, Yuval has been travelling a lot with work, so having time together is even more important.”

A proposal grounded in presence.
Tucked away in a traditional ryokan in the mountains of Hakone, Yuval asked and Talia said yes.
Late afternoon light softened. Rain fell across their private onsen. Years of knowing turned into a promise.
“It was perfect because it was special but quite low-key. Not over the top at all. I would have hated anything public.”
Talia was sitting on a very low sofa when Yuval got down on one knee.
“We were suddenly face to face, which made us both laugh.”
Afterwards, they ordered champagne and settled into the evening the way they do best. Together.
“We had a beautiful dinner at the ryokan in a private room, with lots of food. Later that night, we called our family and friends.”
A moment held quietly. Then shared.

What connected you to the Kerry Rocks piece you chose for your engagement ring?
Yuval originally proposed with a gold band and a gold necklace set with Sapphires.
The Kerry Rocks engagement ring was chosen together.
A shared decision. A reflection of their partnership.
“We tried on a few ‘classic’ rings, but none were quite right. Then we saw the Aeon Ring, Light Yellow Diamond, 14kt Yellow Gold in the Kerry Rocks Paddington store. We loved how unique it was, but still had the classic elements of a Diamond solitaire engagement ring.
Kerry tweaked the design to suit us and it’s perfect. Everyone keeps saying they’ve never seen an engagement ring like it.”
Now, Talia wears her Aeon engagement ring layered with the original gold band Yuval proposed with. Two chapters of the same story, worn together.

The Aeon Ring honours eternal love. Crafted in buttery 14kt yellow gold, its bold hand-etched bezel and textured band frame a round brilliant cut 1ct Diamond that radiates devotion. While Kerry Rocks is committed to using natural gemstones, Talia’s Aeon engagement ring was custom-made with a lab-grown Diamond. A contemporary alternative to tradition, it preserves the integrity and intent of the piece.
