We asked these lovers how they knew they’d found ‘the one’—both in their partner and in a ring that embodies their love.
How did you meet?
Aaron: Steph and I met online 11 years ago, back when online dating still carried a bit of a stigma. But when you meet the love of your life, the how and the where don’t matter. All that matters is the moment you recognise it. Then, you give thanks to the universe and wholeheartedly embrace the journey ahead together.
Steph: After a few weeks talking over text, we finally met up in person and the connection was instant! It might sound cliché, but I really felt we’d always known each other.
Once we met, I never looked back and we’ve created such a beautiful little life together.
What attracted you to your Love?
Aaron: I was instantly attracted to Steph's infectious sense of humour and great taste in music. Not to mention, she is an absolute stunner.
Her generosity and kindness deepened my love for her, and inspired me to become a more giving and compassionate person.
Steph: Aaron is a very handsome man. He is also kind and confident in who he is.
I cherish his emotional intelligence, which has been a guiding force in my own personal growth over the past 11 years.
Life with him is easy and fun, and for me, that’s what it’s all about.
How do you love to spend your time together?
Aaron: Honestly, we love just chilling together and spending time in each other's company. We’ll camp under the stars, hike through nature, spend days at the beach or on the couch, binge watching Netflix or diving into yet another Harry Potter marathon.
Steph: Sometimes I think maybe we spend too much time together, but every time we have the chance to be with each other, it’s always our first choice. It really doesn't matter what we do, as long as we are doing it together.
My favourite moments are camping and exploring outdoors - we both love being in nature. It’s something we bond closely over.
What’s your love language?
Steph: Aaron and I both share Acts of Service as our love language. It makes so much sense, we both love doing things for each other.
What drew you to the Kerry Rocks piece you chose for your partner?
Aaron: I knew Steph loved Teal Sapphires and I’d heard more than once it would make a lovely engagement ring. I’m a simple man, but even I knew this was a massive hint. So I got in touch with Kerry Rocks to have the Linea Ring in Teal Sapphire custom-made for our big moment.
Steph: A little bonus for me was discovering the stone is from Madagascar - home to my favourite animals, the lemurs. I don't think Aaron intended it, but it added more depth to the piece.
The ring itself is anything but traditional, which sums our relationship up perfectly.
