Daily Care Rituals
SHOWERING AND SWIMMING
Remove jewellery when showering or swimming in the ocean and pool. Frequent exposure to hot water, salt water and chlorine can weaken and damage your precious jewellery, erode gold plating and the polish of the gems leaving them dull.
Sleeping, Exercise and Gardening
Movement, sweat, friction and impact can abrade and scratch surfaces of metals and gemstones, as well as loosen settings. Remove before doing any activity.
Perfume, Oils and Skincare
Porous gems absorb these products easily which can lead to discolouration and build up. Apply before wearing jewellery and clean off regularly. Can react to metals too.
Exposure to Heat and Harsh Chemicals
Direct sunlight, hot cars, saunas and chemical exposure to chlorine, bleach and cleaning agents can damage material causing dullness

Know Your Stone
Softer and porous gemstones such as Pearl, Opal, Turquoise, Malachite and Lapis Lazuli are sensitive to water and require extra care. Avoid soaking, soaps, chemicals, heat and ultrasonic cleaners. Clean with a soft, dry cloth and ensure jewellery is completely dry before storing.
Check your Setting
Although we take great care when setting a stone, everyday wear can gradually weaken or bend settings, particularly claw settings, increasing the risk of a loose or lost stone. We recommend having your setting assessed by our jewellers yearly.
Avoid Impact
Gemstones can chip, crack or fracture when subjected to sudden impact. Remove jewellery before activities where pieces may be knocked or damaged. Cracked or lost gemstones are not covered under our warranty.
Metal Care

Your 9kt, 14kt or 18kt solid gold jewellery will naturally develop subtle signs of wear over time, particularly when stacked with other pieces daily. If your solid gold ring needs a refresh, we offer professional polishing at an additional cost. View our gold jewellery cleansing guide.
Acidic skin types, excessive abrasion, impact or contact with harsh chemicals can cause the gold layer to wear away quickly, revealing the sterling silver underneath. Gentle care, regular cleansing and appropriate storage can help preserve the finish of your 18kt gold vermeil jewellery. View our gold jewellery cleansing guide.
Over time, your gold vermeil piece may require re-plating to restore its gold finish, typically every two to three years depending on wear and care. Contact us for a quote.
Sterling silver naturally oxidises over time. With the right care, it can develop a unique patina and character as it ages. Maintain its lustre and brightness by gently polishing with a silver polishing cloth or using a silver dip.
Specific Product Care
Certain jewellery designs require additional care due to their construction and materials. Follow these recommendations to help keep your pieces secure.
All beaded jewellery must be removed before showering and sleeping. Check that the stringing of your beaded necklace or bracelet is secure before wearing. For daily care gently wipe stones with a soft dry cloth before storing. We recommend having beaded jewellery professionally restrung every 2-3 years.
Daily wear of ceremonial rings can cause settings, particularly claw settings, to wear down over time. Claws can also catch on clothing or other materials, causing them to bend or loosen. We recommend having your engagement ring professionally assessed once a year to check the setting and ensure your gemstone remains secure.
Hoop and stud earrings can bend if inserted or closed incorrectly. Avoid applying pressure to the hoop when opening or closing, and ensure the closure is properly aligned before securing. When wearing studs, ensure the back is positioned perpendicular to the post before securing it.
