South Australian White Opal is recognisable for its milky opaque appearance and fiery iridescent flashes, while South Australian Crystal Opal displays a more translucent body with an amplified vivid blue fire.

A precious mineral belonging to the Silica family, Opal is formed when fluids containing silica fall into cracks in rocks. Opal ranks 6–6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale and is a birthstone for October.

Our gold vermeil jewellery involves a premium technique of electro gold plating in Australia where each handcrafted .925 sterling silver piece is finished with a thick layer (2.5 microns for earrings, studs and necklaces and 4 microns for rings) of high quality and ethically sourced 18kt gold.
